It’s really quite remarkable to think that most of the key components of Faith’s portable sound system are pieces that we purchased for our worship launch on September 7, 2003. With the exception of some repaired and replaced cables, a few adjustments to speakers, one replaced projector bulb, and one fried laptop computer, the sound and media equipment has endured over 440 Sundays of being set up, torn down, transported, and stored. Here’s a short shout-out to Sam Gibbs Music of Wichita Falls for helping us with such a “sound” investment!!
Of course, the worship space in the new building will feature new equipment, professional engineered and designed for that space. We’re grateful for those who work hard to make everyone on stage sound good, but for today, our prayer is for the equipment itself- for the speakers, the cable, the projectors, computers, microphones, and everything else that enhances the worship experience through media. It’s amazing how little “gremlins” sometimes infiltrate sound and media systems- we pray that our system would be free from such bugs and that the troubleshooting is quick, straightforward, and easily fixed.
Lord, we ask your blessing for all of the technical equipment that will go into our new building, as well for the hands that design, install, and engineer them. May each component work in its role to effectively communicate your good news. Amen.
