In lieu of their Supper Sunday on 5/19, the youth will host a thank you banquet for all those that have invested their time, talent, and/or resources in the youth ministry this year. So if you supported our kids financially in any way, if you drove them to/from activities, if you contributed to a Sunday Supper, if you donated ‘stuff’, if you sponsored someone for S.T.R.I.V.E.—they want to thank you.

The banquet (a.k.a. pancake dinner) will of course have a pirate theme, so bring your best pirate humor and feel free to dress the paaarrrt. There will be food and entertainment (hmmm....) so make plans to be here. You can RSVP via your Connection Card.

School ends the first week of June, signaling the beginning of ‘vacation season’ for many families. And while a respite from academic life may be the ‘norm’, there’s no break here at church—our hearts and doors remain open year-round.

And while family activities may cause your weekly schedules to be less consistent than usual, Faith wants to continue to provide high quality Christian education for our children, youth, and adults throughout the summer.

To that end, we ask you to prayerfully consider stepping up to help out in some capacity this summer. We’re flexible— and understand that the schedule has to remain somewhat fluid. We need:

• Hosts for youth Poolside Bible Studies on Wednesdays
• Children’s Sunday School teachers and helpers
• Nursery Volunteers
• Adult Sunday School facilitators
• Hospitality Support
• greeters
• worship hosts
• setup crew
• kitchen team
• welcome center volunteers

Our youth will be doing some fundraising this Sunday, March 24.

All of our youth who plan to go on a summer mission trip will be seeking pledges for a S.T.R.I.V.E. workday on Saturday March 30 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. On March 30, they will be helping the elderly of Denton with home repairs. The money they raise will help even more people this summer, as it will be used to offset costs of their summer mission trips - where they will repair homes for the impoverished of Texas.

On Friday March 15 and Saturday 16, our youth will join other youth groups in the area to experiencing a ‘30-hour famine’. The event takes place at Trinity UMC from noon on Friday thru 6pm on Saturday. Students will be simulating poverty by fasting and sleeping outside in cardboard boxes.

We are asking for donations of cardboard, duct tape and juice (anything other than orange or pineapple).

Each semester, our youth divides into teams to compete for various bragging rights and rewards. One of our friendly competitions is to see which team can raise the most money for ZOE Ministry between now and March 10.

The youth want to invite all of you to raid your coin jars and toss your loose change in with theirs and help multiply the overall totals (to date Coin Wars has raised over $150.00). The four team jars are on the Registration Counter (across from the Welcome Center).

Our youth are teaming up with Vista Ridge UMC to serve at CCA on MLK Day (1/21). We'll meet at Faith at 8:30, work at CCA, and then have lunch and some awesome fun at Cosmic Jump.

Faith's youth will lead worship next Sunday, challenging the congregation to put their "Faith in Action!" This will be the debut of Faith's new Youth Praise Band, and will also feature stories and testimonies from students whose lives were impacted by recent youth mission trips. You won't want to miss this special time of worship as Faith's students share their faith.

We are officially 'back to school' now, and youth and confirmation are in full swing.

• Our youth grades 7-12 meet here at the church on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 for Bible study. It would be great if we had a few more adult 'counselors' to help monitor, teach, and mentor our students.
• Confirmation meets from 5:00-6:00 on Sundays, and are encouraged to stick around for Youth Supper Sundays from 6:00-7:30. Confirmation students and youth share a meal together and then participate in various group-building games and exercises designed to produce joy - and awesomeness.
• If you are willing to be an adult 'counselor' on Wednesdays, or to provide a meal for a Youth Supper Sunday, contact Chad.

We're looking forward to another exciting month of youth ministry! Here are some things to keep in mind:

• Faith's youth are preparing for a mission trip in July and need to collect a few tools to take with them. Look Sunday for a special insert that will show you how you can help.
• Poolside Bible studies start Wednesday, June 20 at 7pm at the Davis' house.
