I can’t believe it’s already October! Wasn’t it just July 1? I love this month for a lot of reasons: fall wardrobes, the smell of leaves turning, college football, and pumpkin patches. At the same time, it feels like the busiest month I’ve ever had! We are already beginning our preparations for Advent, even though so much else happens between now and then.
I sat down with Brock (the fiance) last weekend to look at our schedules and he jokingly said, “Well, I’ll see you in November!” I am sure that your calendars are quickly filling up, just like ours is. I hope that no matter how busy you feel, you’ll make time to join us for worship and for all of the opportunities we have to serve our community. We’ve got Birthday Books on October 18, Pumpkin Palooza on October 20, Trunk or Treat at McNair on October 27, and so much more!
Often it seems like church is just “one more thing” we have to schedule in. Instead of that, however, I encourage us all to explore ways that we can structure our lives around worship and serving. This way, our relationship with Jesus Christ can become front and center. It’s a hard shift at times, but this shift has greatly impacted my own life and faith.
Join us this Sunday for our 2nd Grade Bible Presentation (who doesn’t love 2nd graders getting a Bible from the church?!), and for more work in the parables. I can’t wait to see you!
Being your pastor is the BEST!
