ways to SERVE
We are always growing and adapting and can always use help. There are endless opportunities such as media, teaching, music, kitchen, etc. Volunteers help keep our ministry going strong.
Members visit and send cards to those who are having surgery, are hospitalized, had a baby, experienced a death in the family, or are dealing with any major life issue.
Members commit to faithfully praying for the concerns lifted up by our church family and community. Our Prayer Partners team receive regular emails with listed prayer request.
Members provide meals for church/community members who are welcoming a new baby, have been hospitalized, etc. As needs arise, team members receive an email and are given the opportunity to sign up to provide a meal.
The People in Need Fund allows our church to help meet emergency needs of individuals within our community during difficult financial circumstances. As funds allow, needs that are met include food, diapers, formula, gas, utility bills, and transportation.
If you would like information on how to apply for assistance, or on how to contribute to this fund, please contact the church office at 940.535.2267
Members of this team have received FEMA-recongized training and authorization through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to be deployed to assist communities in the early days after a major disaster. D-ERT members are called to provide a Christian presence to survivors in an affected area, work to help stabilize their personal property , and to manage and report needs of the community.
We have partnered McNair Elementary where volunteers serve as mentors, classroom helpers, and reading buddies. We also run a monthly Birthday Book Club for the students to promote literacy. Volunteers also provide additional help in the school's Environmental Learning Areas, and for special events.
Faith Volunteers serve daily lunches through the Summer Lunch Program. Volunteers are asked to commit to 1 week each during the summer for 1 hour shifts. We like to start the beginning of the school year with a Back to School Bash providing backpacks and school supplies for the children.
Youth and Adults from faith took a mission trip to Romania in the summer of 2017. This is just a step in our journey to further develop a relationship to be in ministry with the UMC in Cluj, Romania.
